Privacy and data protection policy

In most cases, we only collect information where it is necessary for accounting, safety and our own marketing. Accounting – so that we can bill you and know when you’ve paid (if you pay on-line by credit card, we don’t get any details of your card). Safety – We need to know certain information about people sailing with us to ensure their safety when on board or in the event of an emergency. Marketing – We keep details of your name and email to send you updates, newsletters and offers, but we don’t sell or share your information with anyone else.

For RYA courses, on successful completion of Day Skipper or above, your contact details, date of birth, certificate number and date of issue will shared with the RYA through a secure web portal on www.rya.org.uk. The data will be stored on the RYA’s central database. This information allows the RYA to record your qualification, to update any records they may hold for you, and to verify or replace your certificate if required. For further information on how the RYA will deal with your data, please see the RYA’s privacy policy at www.rya.org.uk/go/privacy.

Equal opportunities policy

We aim to ensure that all participants in our sailing events are treated fairly and equally, irrespective of sex, age, disability, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, marriage and civil partnership, gender reassignment or social status. However there are just a few exceptions. We do not accept unaccompanied children (under 18) on board our boats. There could also be insurmountable difficulties for people who are restricted in their mobility and we are happy to discuss this with you. If we can’t help, the RYA have a sailability scheme that could.
